On one of the days when I was without a majority of my craft supplies, I decided to make a craft and document it for you all to share as a simple little tutorial.
If I had a mantle, I'd put the Christmas cards on it, but our fireplace as of now is mantle-less. So, I decided to whip up a simple (no sew!) Christmas card hanger. I know you can easily hang them on string, or on ribbons on the cupboard doors, but hey, I just like making things.
Supplies:
3" ribbon, you could use slightly smaller as well
2 - thin dowel rods, thin enough to cut with a scissors
hot glue
small clothespins (I found mine at Michael's for around $1.69 or so)

Cut your dowels to 3 varying lengths, short medium and long to make it into a tree shape

I used wired ribbon, so making the ribbon part was simple. I didn't do this with measurements, so eyeball it out and see how close you want the dowels to be. What you will do is fold the ribbon in half, with the folded part being down on the bottom (the trunk of the tree). You can finish off the raw ends by folding under.

Then simply lay your dowels in between the ribbon like a sandwich and hot glue along both edges of the ribbon and then up over each dowel on both sides, holding the dowel in place.

You'll put the longest dowel closest to the bottom and the shortest at top. I didn't even measure, simply eye balled it. You'll hot glue each dowel in place and also hot glue both ribbons together as you go.

Then I made a ribbon out of the same ribbon, you could easily do a different color or print or even make a star or something fancy and glue it near the top. Then I simply hung it over a cupboard, you could put it on a hook or wherever you'd like.

I found super cute tiny clothespins at Michael's craft store for around $1.69 per pack, and they work perfectly for this!

We have more cards now, but you get the idea! This seriously takes maybe 15 minutes to make if you feel like making something quick!

I think the total cost for the supplies all together came to about $6 or so.
