Tonight's the Night

Tonight is the night we move Annamarie into her big girl bed. A real bed, not a crib. Hoping it goes well. I think she needs it though, she's been in a pack and play for 17 months.

We're just done with how it's been going. Annamarie did well the first couple nights here, sleeping through the night until 5:30 or 7. But lately putting her to sleep is just horrible. Last night it took me over a half hour to get her to go to bed in her pack and play. She wants to lay on our bed with me. That's not happening. Then, the last couple nights she's woken up at 2:30 or 3:30 and wanting to come into our bed to sleep. No one is getting a good night's rest as a result.

But tonight is a new night. We're putting the foot down. It might suck the first couple nights, but I'm done with this. I'm done with the not wanting to go to bed and then expecting us to take her out of her pack and play when she wakes up in the middle of the night.

Now we're going to make an honest effort to keep her in her room for the whole night. If she wakes up, too bad, it's back into her own bed that she'll go.

Annamarie has never been a good sleeper. But she's old enough now to understand that she'll be okay in a bed by herself.

So yeah... we'll see how this goes...

Just don't give up, and don't let her in your bed. If you have to, sleep on the floor next to her bed, but don't let her sleep in your bed unless you don't mind her sleeping with you for the foreseeable future. It going to be a hell of a few days but eventually she will be ok and so will you guys.

We had to sleep next to their bed for a night or too and sneak out when they fell asleep. Just be strong! She will fall asleep at some point, and just tell her the rule is that she can't get out of bed. Good luck!
